How many of you think the FDA is corrupt, controlled by the pharmaceutical industry, or just plain intoxicated by its own supreme power? Yet, who do we trust if we can’t trust the FDA to tell us what we can trust to be safe, effective and truthful?

In this era of self-promoted opinions, products and research, doing your own search isn?t always the most reliable source either, as master advertisers and promoters can convinces us of almost anything. —and testimonials can you bank on personal testimonials of what works or what doesn’t? Is anyone going to publicize the negative, this didn’t work for me kind of testimonials?

Where does the honest, average hard-working citizen turn to make sure they are not being taken advantage or mid-lead? Especially in the nutritional world.

I am a 58 yr old male with arthritis. My dad has it, my mom had it. I have it.

One thing all of my doctors (and there are a number of them involved with my treatment) have encouraged me to do, is: ?Do everything you can for yourself.? And, all of them agreed that nutrition is an important part of the overall treatment?. But then I was on my own.

So now what? The U.S. Department of Agriculture states that our foods today contain 20% to 30% fewer vitamins and minerals than the same foods did just 10 years ago! And the media has exposed the non-ethical practice of most non-prescriptioned nutritional supplements as inaccurately labeling their vitamins. It is reported that most vitamins on the market contain 17% of what is actually on the label. Besides that, there?s been other research that?s shown that 60% of vitamins never even dissolve,(so even a 2nd bottle for a penny is still expensive when you are spending money for nothing).

Does this sound little disheartening? Yah, that?s how I thought.

So, what did I do? I found there are a few (a handful) of nutritional companies that do voluntarily conform and submit to pharmaceutical standards (standards set by the FDA to assure that strict specifications have been met for the strength, purity and quality of the nutritional products.) I choose one of those.

And I must say, the nutrition I added to my arthritis treatment is helping a lot. If you have arthritis, or any other major or minor illness or disease, I encourage you to find a pharmaceutical-grade nutritional company and add them to the list of specialists you enlist for help with your treatment. I am off all the anti-inflammatories and blood pressure pills with their awful side effects. I still go to the medical doctors for help and I ride my bike for physical exercise. And I am doing what I can to help myself stay nutritionally healthy, which helps everything else I am doing be more effective.

It’s worth looking into at the least.

Dr. Jeffery Bland, Ph.D. in nutrition, decided to research vitamin E by going to different health food stores and he found ½ of them did not have any vitamin activity, and a couple were only vegetable oil. That is criminal.
